Welcome to Joatha user manual
Joatha © is an Arabic live CD Linux distribution (Distro). It was established in June 2005 by a Saudi Engineer as an Arabic remaster of Kanotix © Distro. Kanotix © is a live CD Linux distro based on Knoppix © a Debian Sid Distro. The main goal of Joatha establishment was to provide an Arabic ready and easy to use full featured distro to encourage Arabic PC users to switch to Linux. Kanotix © was choosen because it is the best Debian Sid based live distro with special focus on clean and easy hard disk install.
With time, Joatha © became a stand alone distro containing lots of feauters that are not available in any other Linux disto. However, the core system except the kernel part is still based on Kanotix.

Joatha © Team has three main targets. First, Joatha © should always be upto date with Linux softwares without compromizing stability and relayabiliy. Second, Joatha © users should make minimum setup but at the same time make the most use, benifit and enjoyment. Third, Joatha © should be easy to use and nice looking distro.
This document is a modified version of SIDUX © distro's manual and released under GNU/FDL.
How to use this manual
This manual is divided into common sections, for example, a subject pertaining to partitioning is found in Partitioning your Hard Drive, and topics regarding the Internet/WIFI are grouped in Internet and Networking. There are some topics that cannot be grouped or require stand-alone status.
As with any new documentation there will be errors/mistakes/typos, although we hope otherwise regarding errors and mistakes (typos we can live with ) please forgive us.
As the body of work grows, more documentation will be added and we at Joatha are sure that this will prove to be a very valuable resource for you and we thank you for being a part of Joatha.
